Practice Leader – Microsoft Asia (2014 – Current)
The Microsoft Practice Leadership role covers the APJ time zone including Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Asia Pacific, Greater China, India & Japan. This position works closely with the Asia Consulting Practices to drive a healthy business as well as organisational change and efficiency. Role success is measured by effective implementation of the business strategy and the achievement of the expected financial, customer and organisational health outcomes.
Services Quality Assurance – Microsoft Asia (2012 – 2014)
The mission of the Services Business Desk (SBD) is to participate in driving compliance, quality and risk management across Microsoft Services worldwide. Each person in SBD is a multi-disciplined leader drawing on extensive people and project experience. Though their experience they help shape the business and the most complex projects executed by Microsoft Services along with the teams that execute them.
Partner – Summation (2009 to 2012)
Summation is a boutique Australian consulting firm that works with businesses across the Asia Pacific region. Their focus is on improving the performance of organisations to deliver financial benefits and improve customer loyalty. Services focus on improving business execution to increase revenues and decrease costs. This is achieved through a focus on change management and process quality to drive impact on business leadership, people management capability.
As an equity partner the role was on executing the most complex projects along with shaping the business and the intellectual property it delivers to its clients.
COO – Microsoft Services Australia (2005 to June 2009)
Microsoft Services is a $150M pseudo autonomous Australian business that falls under the Microsoft umbrella.
The role has responsibility for national operations including strategy, operational planning and execution, relationship management, strategic planning and execution. The core role focus is on revenue maximisation and cost containment to drive profitability while maintaining a healthy people culture.
Accomplishments
- Consistently delivered organisational targets through successful execution of the strategic plan.
- Achieved revenue growth of 25% to 30% YOY for the last 4 years.
- Managed successful national organisational restructure in 2007 (95% of organisation impacted) to accelerate “go to market” services and organisational innovation which drove the 30% revenue growth in the subsequent two years.
- Drove the shift of organisational focus to business innovation and agility. This was achieved through changes to the “go to market” strategy as well as organisational structure, process and roles.
- Implemented sales management processes including specific activities around sales coverage ratios, pipeline velocity, sales mix and core metrics. Success demonstrated by 175% growth in coverage, achievement of growth targets (25% – 30% each year) and aggressive growth in profitability.
Practice Manager – Microsoft Services (2002 to 2005)
This role has responsibility for leading a geographically distributed team of 150 (plus subcontractors) to achieve annual financial and operational targets. This key to the success of this role was the extensive change management that resulted in the following accomplishments
- Achieved outstanding revenue and organisational health results, delivering a 25% increase in year on year revenue and best in subsidiary organisational health results for focus metrics.
- Increased customer satisfaction from 55% to 90% over the tenure period. Recognised for global best practice, within Microsoft, for customer satisfaction activities.
- Design and implementation of people development and career management frameworks for Australia and New Zealand with subsequent global adoption
Microsoft Services – Principal Consultant(2000 to 2002)
This is the most senior consulting role within the Australian organisation and provided services to the enterprise market with a specific focus on Internet and application integration technologies.

Paradigm Solutions – Executive Director Delivery (1995 to 1999)
Paradigm designed and implemented Internet based business solutions for domestic and international clients. They were at the forefront of the Internet and Web technology wave providing award winning designs and solutions to the Australian Market.
The Executive Director was responsible for Acquisitions and leading the growth into a public entity.
