Building a business from scratch can be an exciting and daunting prospect. It offers financial and personal challenges that give you exposure to every part of the business life cycle. Maintaining it over the long term is as equally challenging.
In my working life I was able to achieve the privilege of being made a partner in an existing business that sold and implemented EPR systems into mid-market organisations. I was able to build a management consultancy with offices in two states specialising in strategic planning and change management. The core product of this organisation was its performance based strategic planning framework which it was also able to sell into one of the big 5 consulting companies.
I was also given the opportunity to work with a business partner and turn our two person organisation into a public company over a period of years through merger and acquisition. This provided a completely new view on business growth and management and has given me a lasting set of skills and a unique perspective on business management, people and how to deliver outcomes.
